Chelsea Supporters Trust Newsletter October 2013

Chelsea Supporters Trust Newsletter October 2013

With the 2013/14 season now well underway, the Chelsea Supporters Trust continues to gain momentum, with a busy schedule of meetings and planning for future events.

Board Activities

Monthly Board meetings are now taking place which reflect the day-to-day running of the Trust, such as crucial social media presence, and how to grow the membership as well as ensuring we take forward initiatives on the various AGM motions. Minutes from October's board meeting are available here.

The CST made its debut at the Fans Forum prior to the Fulham game on 21st September, with Julian Beattie representing the Trust.

Members of the Trust Board also met senior executives of Chelsea FC on 14th October in what Chairman Tim Rolls described as a “useful and interesting meeting” – notes from the meeting are available on the website here.

CST in the Community

On 12th October, the international break provided an opportunity for the Trust to get out into the local community with a view to building strong relations with the residents. Taking advantage of a crisp, sunny, autumnal day, a team of volunteers traipsed the streets on the south side of Stamford Bridge putting leaflets through hundreds of doors - at the same time being wary to avoid those marked ‘no circulars’. A similar exercise will take place targeting Earls Court and Parsons Green on the Saturday of the next international break. Some interesting feedback was received which we will pass to the appropriate bodies.

Christmas Party

As we’re now in Autumn, it won’t be long until the festive season is upon us, and the Chelsea Supporters Trust are delighted to announce that a Christmas Party will take place at The Black Bull pub, Fulham Road, on Friday 13th December. Admission will be just £5 for full CST members, with admission available to non-voting members at £10, which will include an upgrade to full membership of the Trust. There will be music and food included in the admission price, and it promises to be a very special event to mark the end of the first full year of the Trust’s existence.

Mark Worrall will be launching his new book about Roman Abramovich's first ten years at Chelsea. Anyone buying on the night will get their copy for £10 instead of the RRP of £16.99.

Tickets for the party are available from events@chelseasupporterstrust.com

Special General Meeting

The CST will be holding a Special General Meeting (SGM) on Sunday 1st December, after the home game against Southampton (time and venue to be confirmed). As well as an update on a series of initiatives relating to the motions passed at the AGM, this meeting will give members the opportunity to put questions to the new Trust Board, not just in person, but also via Mixlr, where the meeting will be broadcast live.

Badges

Finally, we’re delighted to say that the badge for our full voting members, carrying the Trust crest, has now been signed off and we are awaiting delivery. Badges should be available at the Christmas Party on 13th December, and will also subsequently be available to collect from the cfcuk stall.

CST on Matchdays

As usual, a member of the Trust Board will be available at the cfcuk stall for 90 minutes on matchdays to answers members’ queries and not only sign up new members, but also upgrade non-voting members to full membership, with the added bonus of being able to purchase tickets for the Christmas Social. Theresa Magee will be present before the West Bromwich Albion match on 9th November between 1.00pm and 2.30pm.
